I was fascinated by model
airplanes and cars at a very young age. My father taught me to fly model planes
beginning with U-Control and then introduced me to radio controlled flying very
early. His guidance instilled a real love for the hobby, which to this day,
over 25 years later, I still have!
Today, I am an active competitor in
radio controlled sports. I currently race cars, 10th & 12th scale on-road
and 10th scale off-road, and fly airplanes and helicopters in events throughout
the western United States. I have, however, experienced my fair share of
engine-related failures. In fact, I have even been known to sacrifice an engine
to win a speed trap event!
As the Vehicle Fleet and Garage Manager for
the University of California San Diego, I began a program to study the benefits
of popular motor additives in a large, diverse vehicle fleet. I was able to
document performance gains, improvements in fuel economy, reductions in
operating temperatures and general reductions in wear, maintenance and fuel
costs when using the comercially available motor additives in the fleet
vehicles.
Recently, I participated in a major race in Tustin CA.,
running a 12th scale 4-wheel drive sedan with a .12 size 2-cycle engine in an
enclosed body. The summer air temperature that day was approximately 100
degrees, resulting in an abnormally hot operating engine. Several drivers that
day were having flame out trouble. The thought occurred to me that there should
be a product that did for 2-cyclel engines exactly what those oil additives do
for automobile engines. Heat, wear, rpm and economy are as important to 2-cycle
engines as they are to full-scale gasoline and diesel engines. After that race
in Tustin, I was determined to search for a product that could deliver the same
kinds of increased performance results in 2-cycle engines as I had seen in the
university fleet vehicles. I wanted a competitive edge to my racing and a way
to "Maximize Performance Safely" from all of my 2-cycle
engines.
I soon discovered that there were no existing products
available in the market that worked in 2-stroke engines, and I began
experimenting with automobile products that were currently available including
Prolong, Slick 50, and Duralube, all popular additives in the
automobile industry. The results were not spectacular. In fact, I even seized a
new engine testing one of those products. None of those three petroleum-based
products gave the desired results when mixed with nitro methane fuels, or with
ANY engine that mixed oil with the fuel.
More determined than ever, I
continued my search until I found a specialty lubricant and chemical company
who helped me design a formula to blend with nitro methane, as well as gasoline
fuels. It was just a matter of time to perfect the formula. I did extensive
testing in a variety of engines and became increasingly more excited as I began
to experience the kind of performance results I had only dreamt of a few years
before. Nitro BLAST was born.
Nitro BLAST, a fuel additive product designed for
2-stroke engines, reduces heat, improves fuel economy, gives you higher rpms,
makes your idle stable and much, much more. There has never been anything quite
like it!
And now, taking the same performance formula and blending it
with the finest compounds available to give you unparalleled performance
creating Nitro BLAST X-1 Grease .
